Ditching Your Bad Reviews For Good Ones

People feel the same way about you and your brand. They want something that they know you really care about. I have a friend who is a professional illustrator and she pours so much love and passion into her work that it’s impossible not to love it. Some ways that you can reflect your love of craft online are to Ditch any wimpy, fake looking marketing ideas that somebody sold you because they’re “hot right now.” They’re hot for the person selling them, but you need something that shows your authenticity and why you’re worth a look, or maybe even a great review. Write a great About page on your site that tells the story so that people understand why you’re doing this. They want to understand what makes you special and unique Take that great About page message and abbreviating into a quick sentence or two to use on these review sites, your Facebook Page, and elsewhere online Share videos, where possible, that demonstrate your love of the craft. Show before and after stories, where applicable. Share pictures of you or your team at work that reflect your pride in what you do. Cooking is fair game here, as are other more service related businesses.

Expert in a Weekend eBook Gold Rush! (Where’s my Pepto?)

Have you heard all the eBook hullabaloo? Don't get me wrong! I love writers and adore the idea of talented storytellers or teachers getting out there and self publishing their work. Many of my friends are credible authors who worked *gasp* longer than a weekend to craft their work. This hullaballoo involves Googling a bunch of stuff on a subject you don't know much about over a weekend and then suddenly becoming an "author" and expert on the subject. Voila! Instant credibility AND money to burn! Uh huh. I'd love to hear an actual story about somebody making money this way. If the writer legitimately knows what they're talking about I'm behind them 100%, but all this conversation about "becoming an expert in a weekend!" is pure nonsense at best. I'm telling you about this because I received the most inventive "write a book in 30 minutes" sort of proposal in my LinkedIn messages. I've withheld names to protect the tacky:
