Almost a year ago I created my first, my personal, Facebook Fan Page. I’d resisted the pull, the allure, and enticement of Facebook algorithms no longer and plunged face first into the world of my own company’s Facebook Marketing.

It’s been an exciting, enjoyable year and now it’s time for me to give back by sponsoring this one and only, first ever

Pages Gone Wild, Spring Break 2011

Yes, it’s never been done before. Yes, it’s a little wild and reckless.

But I’m creating an event that will introduce your own Facebook Page to more people than ever before at one time unless you’ve bought a LOT of advertising!

This is free and fun.

Here’s how it works:

I’ve created an open Facebook Event called “Pages Gone Wild, Spring Break 2011.”

  1. Everybody shares a link to their Facebook Page.
  2. Everybody likes everybody else’s Page.
  3. On Friday, April 29th at 5:00 EST I verify who’s liked everybody on the Page.
  4. Monday morning I publish a huge “Pages Gone Wild, Spring Break 2011″ post with everybody’s picture and a link to their Page.
  5. The post will go out to well over 100,000 people even if it doesn’t go viral.

Who says Spring Break is just for kids?!

Shocked Man

You did what?!

Know anybody with a Band, a Book, or a Business that would like some free publicity and to make lots of new friends? Please share this.

What fun, what a mad house :) Thanks for the invite Lori!

Thanks Sabine! It’s going viral already!! Can’t IMAGINE how big it will get before it’s over on the 29th! :D

      • http://www.facebook.com/schmidtmediadesigns Sabi

haha it will be huge I believe. Like a social Pnadora’s Box :)

        • http://www.social-media-design.com/ Lori Randall Stradtman

Brilliantly put, Sabi!! I’m thinking up some strategies to be sure everybody gets their “likes,” such as liking the event post for every one a day before the finish so that people can see them once again and like them! All ideas are welcome!

          • http://www.facebook.com/schmidtmediadesigns Sabi

That is a good question, hmm. Difficult to do anything like that wothout HTML. If you’d do it on your page, you could create an app- otherwise I think we can just check ourselves.

It is fun. I got 24 likers yesterday :)

          • http://www.social-media-design.com/ Lori Randall Stradtman

Oh that’s delightful!! I’m going to make it even easier with a simple list of links. :)

Fabulous concept, Lori! Why did not I think of this. Glad YOU did! :-)

    • http://www.social-media-design.com/ Lori Randall Stradtman

Thanks Mary!! It’s a wild ride administering it, but the outcome’s already good. I think once Facebook catches up to it we’ll be even more impressed with the numbers. :)

Hee hee!! Let’s see how deep it gets! :D

Please don’t be shy about inviting your friends and groups on LinkedIn. I’m creating a link list that will make this a lot faster/easier!

      Thanks for stopping by!

What a great idea — I got overwhelmed, honestly. After liking every single page for about 30 minutes, I ended up selecting pages that had some tenuous connection with mine. Still was happy to “meet” some folks I hadn’t known before and appreciate the spirit of connection behind this idea.

    • http://www.social-media-design.com/ Lori Randall Stradtman

Thank you so much Elizabeth! So glad you found my blog too! :)

I’m putting together a couple of things today that will make following/tracking a lot easier. One will be a Page on here that just has links to everybody’s Facebook Pages, so you don’t have to wait for Facebook to load. I’ll update it daily so we all can keep track.

So excited to see how big this will get before the final post on the 29th! Please feel free to invite all your friends to the Event. And thanks again for stopping by!

    • http://www.social-media-design.com/ Lori Randall Stradtman

So glad it’s working out great for you Indulekha! Please do keep track of your page growth and invite your friends. :) I don’t write the big post with the pictures and links to all who liked everybody back until April 29th.

Is this a rush or what? LOL

Jessica…great idea…thanks for inviting me. On another note, was it OK for me to send the wife of the Nigerian Oil Minister my bank account number? She promised me 10% of 30 million dollars. Please advise.
